Alleged Drug Kingpin Extradited to US After Gunfight

An alleged top member of the Arellano-Felix Organization (AFO) has been extradited to the United States following a gunfight with a Mexican Special Tactical Team, sources report. US Attorney Laura E. Duffy announced that the alleged drug cartel leader will face charges of  narcotics trafficking, money laundering and racketeering. An extradition order had been granted for the gang leader in 2010 after years of investigation and processing, and it’s taken until now for the drug dealer to be caught. The AFO has a long history of torture and murder.

The AFO has been one of the main cartels that move heroin, cocaine, meth, marijuana, and other drugs into the United States. That means that people who are buying drugs on the streets are directly and indirectly supporting gang warfare, criminal organizations, and violence. Drug abuse is not a victimless crime. “Everybody in this organization has had somebody killed,” a former federal prosecutor said about the AFO. Treatment remains the best option to rid yourself of addiction to cocaine, meth, marijuana, or prescription pills.

If you have a problem with drug addiction or know someone who does, you should seek help now for yourself or your loved one. Thankfully, there is good help available. Detoxification and behavioral therapy have proven to be effective in treating drug dependence.
