Ten Percent of Teens Have Tried Hashish

According to a new study, one in ten teenagers report using the drug Hashish. Hashish is a more powerful form of marijuana. It has a much higher content of THC than the traditional marijuana. While one marijuana cigarette contains 0.5 to 5 percent THC, Hashish contains 2 to 20 percent. Like marijuana, Hashish can be used in a variety of ways including smoking, vaping or cooking it into food.

Researchers on this study analyzed data of 10,500 seniors in high school between 2007 and 2011. They found that ten percent of them reported trying the drug. They also found that those who regularly smoke marijuana are 25 percent more likely to try Hashish. They are also more likely to try the drug if they use other drugs or binge drink regularly. Females were less likely to use the drugs than males, but that goes for all hard drugs.

The frequent use of Hashish is an indication of marijuana abuse or addiction. Many people think one cannot be addicted to marijuana, but that is not the case. It is actually the most frequently used drugs in the United States and causes many adverse health effects.
