Summer Sober Fun Near Seabrook

The first day of summer is roughly a week away and it’s a good time to start planning some sober fun near Seabrook, New Jersey. There are plenty of local activities that can help enhance your recovery and help you rediscover your passion for your new sober life. In the words of American author Melissa Marr: “Rejoice as summer should chase away sorrows by living.”

Here are a few ideas to jumpstart your summer-fun list:

  • Head to a drive-in movie. A gorgeous summer night is the perfect time to gather a few sober friends and head to The Delsea Drive-in Theater in nearby Vineland, NJ. Drive-in tickets are sold by screen, not individual movies, so you can enjoy a double feature for the price of one!
  • Soak up nature. You likely already know the numerous health benefits of nature (stress reduction, for one) and the 6,765-acre Glades Wildlife Refuge is the perfect place to soak it all in. The refuge offers dozens of outdoor activities, from hiking to bird watching to kayaking and canoeing.
  • Spend a day with the animals. A day at the zoo (preferably before it gets too steamy outside!) is a great way to reap the healing benefits of both nature and animals. Take a trip to Cohanzick Zoo and learn about some amazing creatures, from foxes and owls to tigers and bears.
  • Shop local produce. There are some great farmer’s markets near Seabrook, NJ, and summer is the perfect time to try a few near you so you savor the flavors of Jersey corn and tomatoes and juicy watermelon.

Certainly another way to enjoy summer in Seabrook, NJ, is to just head outside and soak up the sun – whether you gather some friends for a picnic in the local park or game of Frisbee.
