New Jersey Drug and Weapons Bust Nabs 17 People

Law enforcement officers recently announced the arrest of 17 people along with the seizure of five firearms and more than $4,000 worth of drugs. The bust was the result of an investigation that took more than 3 months, according to police authorities. “Illegal drugs fuel violence. Every time we remove an illegal weapon from the streets we believe we save lives,” said Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray in a press conference. Drugs seized included crack cocaine, heroin and marijuana. Several assault weapons were also taken, including an AK-47 and a Mossberg shotgun.
