Medical Marijuana Begins Being Sold in New Jersey

Pot has had a long history in New Jersey, but now it’s being sold through legal channels for those who need its medicinal properties. The Greenleaf Compassion Center, in Essex County, recently became New Jersey’s first licensed dispensary on December 6th. A marijuana activist was one of the first to buy from the new dispensary, saying “It means the beginning of the end of the drug war has come to New Jersey, and, on a more personal level, the completion of a longtime personal and professional goal, to make medical marijuana accessible to sick people. . . . Pot is not a bad thing.”

However, even though pot has potent medicinal properties, people should always be careful around any sort of drug. This has been shown by the increasing rates of addiction to prescription drugs, even when taken under the direction of doctor’s care. Now that certain drugs are becoming legalized, it’s more important than ever that people watch out for drug addiction and dependence. If you think you might be dependent on drugs, the best course of action is to seek treatment.

If you have a problem with alcohol abuse or know someone who does, you can seek help now for yourself or your loved one. Thankfully, there is good help available. Detoxification and behavioral therapy have proven to be effective in treating alcohol dependence. Addicts are often unable to complete treatment on their own or with family members, so it’s very important to seek the right treatment center. At Seabrook, we customize our treatment plans to individual patient’s needs, so you know the help you’re getting is right for you or a loved one.
