Madison, NJ Police Crack Down on Drunk Driving This Week

This week until September 3rd, the Madison police department will be setting up checkpoints and conducting random tests, all part of their “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” initiative. It’s all part of a nationwide program designed to decrease driving while under the influence of alcohol. The Division of Highway Traffic Safety provided grants and funding to various local law enforcement agencies in New Jersey to sponsor the efforts at making the road safer. The busiest travel days of the year, including Labor Day weekend, are specifically singled out for more enforcement.

Obviously driving under the influence is a huge problem, and can have disastrous penalties. From fines and license suspension and even as far as jail time, this is one of the most clear-cut ways that alcohol can ruin a life—not to mention the lives of any potential victims of an impaired driver. In fact, the simple fact considering driving while inebriated can count as a warning sign for alcoholism. Alcohol abuse can lead directly to auto accidents, which are one the top causes of preventable deaths in the United States.

If you think you have a problem with alcohol, you should seek help now before something terrible happens. Thankfully, there is good help available. Detoxification and behavioral therapy have proven to be effective in treating drug dependence. Addicts are often unable to complete treatment on their own or with family members, so it’s very important to seek the right treatment center. At Seabrook, we customize our treatment plans to individual patient’s needs, so you know the help you’re getting is right for you or a loved one. Seabrook has rehabilitation centers in New Jersey (NJ), Pennsylvania (PA), and an outpatient center in New York (NY). Contact Seabrook today for any questions about alcohol, addiction, and treatment.
