Today’s reflection is about the 7th step and humbly asking God to remove our defects. I had thought that meant that when we ask, we are accepting that we have defects of character that need to be removed and so in admitting that, we are humbled. What I just learned by reading this reflection today is that “of myself I am nothing, the Father within doeth the work.” It says that we don’t need to ask for help, or strength or knowledge of how to remove the character defect. When we ask Him to remove them for us, we are acknowledging that of our own power, we cannot remove them. All we need to do is ask and trust in our Higher Power.
